10mm Dwarf Army

The full Dwarf army minus a few ships.  The figures are all from pendraken Miniatures.  The idea behind the army is your bog standard dwarf dudes.  All of the machines are scratch built with crew made of spare dwarf figures.
Dwarf Blunderbus FHD8
Dwarf Bowmen FHD6
Dwarf Muskets (my own conversions)
Dwarf Steam Tank, based on an early ironclad.
Dwarf Smith

Dwarf Organ guns, guns are taken from Renaissance range.

Dwarf Cannon FD11, not a huge fan of this, May swap it out for an English civil war Cannon later.
Mine King!  FD9, I added the hunting dogs and pile of money
Sword guys, I use these as heavy infantry/Knights
Druids, with standing stones, love these guys

Dwarf long-bowmen mixed with swordsmen in hood to be used as standard dwarf infantry or scouts depending on plot!

Dwarf Infantry,a mixture of everything.
Dwarf Zeppelin
Dwarf fleet and fleet air arm
Dwarf bomber
Dwarf flame-thrower
Dwarf Submarine, a simple CSS Hunley type submarine
A Torpedo boat built for speed rather than elegance, based of CSS David.
This Ironclad is very american civil war.

Dwarf Airship / Zepplin

The idea of a steam powered airship is old hat but I figured my dwarves would enjoy one!
The ship is made from cut foam with Milliput over the top, and took alot less time than I was expecting.
I armed the ship with a light cannon, although i think if it ever fired the craft would  fall appart.

10mm Dwarf Steam tank

For my Dwarf army I needed something a bit different so went for a Dwarf steam tank.  The tank is made from Milliput over a styrophome shape.

As I was planning the design I went into some back story and this will be explained later, but in essence it is an Ironclad type machine, with gun ports for a cannon and a Petard on a Spar (for clearing rocks!)

As a model its quite fun, as a weapon its a pain to use but I am still working on it.

10mm Dwarf Arquebus

I got hold of some nice Dwarves to bolster my army from Triples 2014.  One of the new troop types was FHD8 Dwarf Blunderbus from Pendraken miniatures.   They are nice little models, however for my Dwarf army I wanted something a little more interesting, so I converted the blunderbus into an Arquebus.  Although Dwarven Matchlock, Musket, Hook gun or any other term will do just as well.

The conversion was done by cutting the end of the gun off, placing a tiny rod for the barrel and adding wire on the underside for strength and to act as a ramrod, then placed the severed barrel on the end.

The finished model looks quite fine, and will give my Dwarf army some much needed firepower

Dwarf army

The Dwarf host is here

Here is my Dwarf army, the start of it anyway.  Dwarf Housecarls , a King, 2 units of bowmen 3 units of scouts and 5 bases of druids.
The Dwarven housecarls are based in units of 5, and are a mixture of all the dwarf packs.  the army is made up of many colours to represent most dwarves turning up in the clothes they were wearing but with a lot of red and blue which helps to make the army look slightly more uniform.  I figured the Dwarf king or warsmith is on an adventure to reclaim some Dwarf hold his grandfather absentmindedly lost of maybe kill a dragon, either way the king/leader will not have an army so to speak but will raise his axe and members of his clan will join him, some of his personal household become leaders and officers and you have a simple army.
Dwarven Druids are a nice feature of the army.  I based them with little standing stones.  The figures are from the wizards back but with other dwarves from the dwarven king pack, 'the guys holding up the king'  I cut them into 3 dwarves and used them as exulting Druids.
The scouts are just dwarves in hoods, I thought they would look good as scouts based in 2's
The high king himself, as mentioned before I removed the dudes who carry him as I didn't like the look of them, and I based the king with a couple of warhounds [Irregular miniatures dogs]  and a pile of gold from the fantasy dungeon range.
Dwarven bowmen are just as they sound.

Dungeon

The moon pool, an entrance to the dungeon through a water level tunnel, it was once navigable by Dwarven longboats but on the last expedition the tunnel caved in and crushed the last boat, the remaining longboat is now used as a floating base of operations by explorers.
Abandoned mine, tunnelled long ago in a search for preciouses metals, it has a small river and shafts leaving to lost tunnels.
The Pool, probably an abandoned mine or a water made cave, with a small island.
Gate room, Here with a long bottomless pit, with a walkway across the pit, the walkway can be defended by just a few troops, however in this scenario it looks like the Goblins brought a troll.
A ruined hall, a fissure runs through the middle of the room, that unwary travellers might fall through.
No Dungeon is complete without a prison to put all those captives who have wondered in looking for adventure.
Library, Here a mad (or sane - who can tell) Dwarf Druid studies ancient books for the Lore of old.
 Blacksmiths Forge
 Well Room
Corridors
