28mm Viking Jarl or walord, general, etc ....

My viking jarl, I wanted him to stand out, so strangling a saxon prisoner suits the theme of my bloodthirsty viking army.  I went for the Darth Vader look!

10mm Ruined Fortress

 Here is yet another fortress for my 10mm Fantast, although it can be just as much a Dark age ruin too.    There is a lot of damage/Decay and the new tenants have put up a wooden stockade to help with defence.  They even have a house within the walls as the tower is probably too dangerous to sleep inside.

15mm Anglo Saxons

 15mm Anglo Saxons of the range from lancashire games, they come in packs of 10 or packs of 60 with a mix of figures.  They are good castings and very easy to paint.  The figures come in a few poses which is good to do mixed looking units.

Goths

 

This is a new look at the Goths I did from a while back, as I have changed the way I paint them, making them a little brighter than the usual drab colours I used to paint them in, so here they are, a small unit of bowmen and larger group of spearmen and swordsmen making up the shield wall. Although in battle the bow would take the back rank, its easier to see them like this.

28mm Saxons

 These guys are from gripping beast and much the same as their vikings from the same range, in fact on the sprue there is little difference in figure. 

 there are 44 figs in  the box and 1 command of 3 included in that, the commander has a cloak which looks ok, and a standard and horn.  All easy to put together.

Viking Fortress & Village

 

This was a commission order and the first time I ever tried doing some 28mm dark age scenery. I enjoyed doing the buildings they proved very interesting, the Fort took a little more thinking.

 

The Fortress walls are of sticks of the kind you get in the garden centre, I like the tower best, and the whole thing fits the figures very well.

The buildings for the village consist of a Blacksmiths Forge with well, a Cottage and two Hovels of the Viking style. In 28mm they look passable I think.
